Street Outreach is the process of engaging and building relationships with individuals calling the streets home. In the process we directly provide basic elements needed for survival such as tents, tarps, sleeping bags, water, food, and clothing when necessary. Our primary function though is relationship based Resource Coordination.
We would not be able to do what with do without the support and collaboration of organizations around the city. Allegheny Health Department, in our efforts to combat opioid overdose deaths, has provided us funding and supplies to both distribute and train others in the street community on the use of Narcan/Naloxone. Prevention Point Pittsburgh has also been fundamental in our facilitation of harm reduction practices and education on the streets. Operation Safety Net and Allegheny Health Network's Center for Inclusion Health provide us access to resources to address medical needs and align medically assisted treatment. Allegheny Link and the Allegheny County Department of Human Services provide coordinated entry for housing programs.
In addition to these organization we collaborate with many others including Light of Life, Blankets Over Pittsburgh, Living Ministry, Pittsburgh Downtown Partners, City of Pittsburgh Mayor's Office, and numerous other service providers, drop-in centers, and shelter programs throughout Allegheny County.
